Books and book-related news for April 13, 2010:

Biggest item of the day (and I’m embarrassed to have missed this for the New Releases of Note feature): Mark Steyn‘s latest book, Lights Out: Islam, Free Speech, and the Twilight of the West, is released today. Steyn is one of my favorite social and political commentators, and I am hugely excited about this book, which, like America Alone, deals with the politics and consequences of multiculturalism, demographic change, and the refusal to stand up to radical Islam.

Reviews of new books are pretty light on the ground today, but I did read this highly amusing essay by Nick Mamatas on his addiction to literary biographies. I hope you enjoy it as well.
